Milk

When Poppie gets hooked on a restaurant, you have to try it. For her seal of approval, a restaurant has to endure endless scrutiny, several consistency tastings and foremost, convenience. Her latest passion is for Milk on Beverly Boulevard.

Therefore, on a rainy Sunday, Poppie, Carly, Courtney and I popped into the cheerful, bright establishment run by Bret Thompson, former corporate executive chef of Patina. Us "Ladies Who Lunched" snacked on a variety of soups, sandwiches and salads. All mouthwatering. Especially my salad of arugula, manchego cheese, candied walnuts and dates.

The piece de resistance was the Ooey Gooey Double Chocolate Cookie. Crisp on the outside, but so oozey in the middle, it had to be eaten with a fork. I would also suggest the blue velvet cake -- it's trippy, fluorescent color is alarming only until the first forkful hits the taste buds.

That salad was scrumptious. Next time I'm saving room for a shake!!
