Mom's Visit

Photo of my Mom in Turkey

Life seems to make more sense when I'm spending time with my Mom. She is in Los Angeles on business this week, thus we are so fortunate to spend our non-working hours together. A rarity and delight!

My Mom has this marvelous peacefulness to her, blend that with her worldly wisdom and unique Asian-American female perspective and it makes those around her, especially me, feel really comfortable.

On the other side, her petite 5'1" frame has also been nicknamed "Large and In Charge" because she is straight forward and can be a smidge stubborn -- especially when she thinks it is in my best interest. Therefore I am sharing this amusing interaction we had in the movie parking lot this afternoon:

"Lotus, do you want to use my sweatshirt in the movies?"
"No thanks, I brought my scarf."
"It is the white one with the brown stripes."
"No, I'm okay. Thanks though."
"Are you sure? It has a hood."
"No, I won't need it."
"It's right behind you."
"OKAY, I'LL TAKE IT."
I used my scarf.

Bless her!
